13 November 2009 "The analysis of the data collected from the Environmental Change Monitoring Site on Snowdon continues to reveal valuable insights into the changing Welsh environment." So begins an article in the H20 newsletter describing some of the ECN studies at Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa). The article compares recent ECN rainfall data with data collected in the mid 1960s to mid 70’s under the International Biological Programme. The comparison suggests that rainfall during the period 1995-2008 is higher than from 1966-1977, and that the greatest increase is during the winter months. Trends in snow lie and water chemistry are also reported. The H20 newsletter is available here (the ECN article is at the end of page 2). The ECN Snowdon site is managed by Countryside Council for Wales.
