This session will provide students will an overview of grassland types in the UK, their importance and ecology. The session will be hosted at a key lowland grassland reserve and led by the previous manager of the site Dr Kerry Lock.
Students will be led through the armoury of grassland techniques available to managers and the evidence-base behind them. This will provide a useful platform for discussing key issues affecting the achievement of management goals in grassland management and how variations in the use of management techniques can impact species composition of grassland.
This one day course is to be delivered by Dr Kerry Lock, and held from 10am-5pm at Chimney Meadows nature reserve.
